Hi guys NEWBIE QUESTION WARNING,
Will have my XL2 in my ownership within 2 weeks and went to play with one today. So question is this.
I wanted to zoom in on a person but have the back ground blurry. How do I do this? When I got close up to the person the back ground was just as sharp.

You have to select the DOF (Depth of Field) Button; it should either be soft, rack or sharp. Not sure where it is on XL2 though.

There is no DOF button the XL2 (that I am aware of). To sort of do this with semi-ok results, get as far away from the subject as you can and zoom in, then you will have the DOF you are looking for.

If you want real DOF, you'll have to purchase a mini35 from P+S Technik or go the much much cheaper route with the same results by getting the micro35 from redrockmicro.com or the guerilla35 from guerilla35.com (not sure if the guerilla35 is in production yet).

Hope that helps.
