sorry , it won't. When i bought it, i asked him would it fit standard FF, and he said "yes". Told him i had a RR FF, he said "yes" it would fit. When i got it. it didn't. Only fits indifocus. Emailed and called mutliple times, just got the run around.

that is totally not cool.. and just when I was thinking of buying an indifocus too...

here's a bump for ya...

Yeah, buy local. Not that indian crap, if you buy local it might be a wee bit (200%)more expensive, but you get that great support.

Classic urban legend.

....aaaand bump!

It didn't have anything to do with my post. I was actually going to purchase this but I decided not to because I have the original indifocus gear with updated gear box. I cant use these until I upgrade my handle. I actually love my indisystem products.

Thanks David, but I get a remote focus soon, so that crank/whip problem is history for me.

A gallon of gas you say, huh? Damed, that´s tempting. I don´t need the crank, but that´s hard to resist those days.

Just to mention - Tim from indifocus is a local boy(iowa) who makes and stands behind each product he sells. I've bought many items from him and have never had a problem getting him on the phone. Yes, the items don't have the polish you'd find on a steadicam rig however they're strong and do the job. Its a solid solution for those who need a good product for a good price. I think you need to be fair when you review a product since untold numbers of people will read these reviews and make a decision not to buy American made.

im not sure if your talking to david or me.
This has nothing to do with america, just indifocus.
i have not had a problem getting him on the phone either. I have had a problem getting a product i can use. And i am sick of calling. since i called several time.
Was told it would work, then i was told to send an email. did it, no responds called again, and was told to send an email. i did. nothing. called again, I was told i would be sent a mail back label, nothing. so after months i posted it on dvx. I hope someone buys it that can use it:)

strange...almost sounds like a completely different company. Tim actually made me a custom mount for my rod system that I described over the phone. He had it shipped to my house and was in my hand in less than 24 hours. He isn't the best salesman but is good in terms of engineering equipment for video etc. I would try him again to resolve the issue.

the question should be asked which ff doe you have, you asked if it would work with the "industry standard" I'm pretty sure redrock isn't industry standards, but I may be wrong, I've delt with the folks at indifocus as well, and they really seem on the up and up, as well I think they are respected members on this board. perhaps you should try calling them again or email them and point this to this thread. sounds like some wires got crossed, maybe the emailes never made it to them, if you use aol or hotmail both end up in spam filters a lot.

I'm not saying tim is a bad person, that his products don't work or that he doesnt ship quickly. I'm saying it doesnt fit my FF. Even tho i asked would it fit before i bought it. (and yes to my specific FF, jason) The whip is a custom piece too. It has a input so the crank can go into the handle of the whip. And if u have a indifocus it will work great im guessing.

This isn't a bash tim/indifocus thread or a i love indifocus thread.
This is a buy my indifocus crank and whip thread. :)
