Spartacus: Blood and Sand

***SPOILERS***

P, Tell me you watched the "Shadow Of Death" ep 105. That was the best one yet IMHO. My wife was clapping at that final Decap scene. Very intense.

I did hate Crixus, now I don't for some reason. I think once he opened up a little bit to Spartacus and his dynamic with the women there made me really start to feel sorry for him rather than hate him. Now I hope he lives after what happened to him in the arena.

The gay dread guy does not really bother me too much, and I say gay in the truest sense ot the word. If you did not watch the episode you are in for a shock. I mean a big one.

One thing I did not know is that Lacretia was Lucy Lawless. I saw the credits and thought, wait a gotdamn minute.

My wife and I are totally hooked on this show now. I think we have gotten used to everything that is wrong with it and just enjoy it for what it is.

I'm so with you on this one. I did the same thing, I just take it for what it is, look past all the cheesy stuff and just enjoy it. I like it so much now that I can't wait for the next episodes.

And yes I saw the new episode last night. I liked it a lot, not as good as the previous episode when they were in the Pit, but it is the second best episode IMO. I new that dread dude was gay way before last night's episode. In Episode 3 or 4 he is seen having gay sex so that was a sign right there he was gay...LOL!

Back to the episode, I enjoyed it a lot. And what I'm loving about the writing is that, things you expect in the Stadium, meaning the fights, the results are never predictable. That Shadow dude was a scary mofo... what a great battle scene.

I knew that Lacretia was Lucy Lawless on the second episode. And guess what else you may not know, Iolaus( Michael Hurst) from Hercules the Legendary Journey, he directed last night's episode... And for a minute I thought he was the guy who is Batiatus Arch Nemesis. He looks awful like him.

I can't wait to see how this Season gonna end, I know it’s gonna be a Bang, until then can't wait for Episode 6.

I did know any of that. That's crazy. Lucy lawless is super sexy now. My mom was a die hard warrior princess fan and I never thought I would want to see her naked but now I can't wait.
I had watched two episodes back to back, and was like, hold up, this dude is gay! Doesn't really matter but a gay gladiator is hilarious but I guess it. Works with the time period.

What's really funny is the warning they play before each episode and how it depicts an "ACCURATE depection of that time period". I think me, you and battuta are the only people who dig it.

LOL! yeah, we are the only 3 who are keeping it on the air. A lot of viewers probably faded away after the first episode which I can't blame them. But it’s getting better. And I hear Starz already ordered a second Season so lets see.

About the gay dread dude, bet you if you ask him he's not gay(in Spartacus Universe), the same way dudes in prison who have sex with man don't consider themselves gay, it’s a power issue. Because you see his lover is his servant...

But Crixus gets all the honeys :)

Crixus hates lacretia, and he does a great job at showing it without showing it.

I told all my dudes about it and now we all watch it faithfully. It is getting better and I'm on board for next season already.

Totally agree about the power thing. I don't know if I could kiss a man on the lips so kudos to him. I would throw up in my mouth if I had to do that. I think I like my place BEHIND the camera.

Great episode...This show is getting better and better...And Richard, there was more gayness going on in ancient Rome than a Project Runway marathon, so I'm actually surprised there isn't more of it. Being gay was like being left handed back then. Nobody thought much of it...You know what I think I like about this show is its unabashed pulpiness. It reminds me of those old Conan books, or the Edgar Rice Burroughs Martian novels, a go for the jugular, no punches pulled type of storytelling. It's got balls. I'm not going to put it up against something like ROME, but it does make that show look like a G rated movie in comparison.

LOL. No Doubt. I still don't like that guy. But I see him being around for a while unfortunately.

I'd like to join the fan club, I've been enjoying the show myself.

It didn't bother me when they did that for Tony Stark in Iron Man or Capra in Sunshine. I thought it was cool.

LOL!!!! Hell yeah, I vowed not to watch the next episode after seeing the last one which was episode 3.... but for some reason I think I will be back!!! I must say, it's getting worst each episode as if that could happen, let's just hope it atleast gets a little better.

Did anyone see the last Episode!!! Even though I survived the cheesyness of the previous two episodes, this last one might of been the final straw... I mean they actually showed scenes of the actors's face fighting inside their mask... they actually pretended like the camera was mounted inside of the mask...LOL I mean seriosly, it's hard to explain you just have to see it.... this Director needs to get shot! but yet we're still watching...LOL

Okay, I can unapologetically say this is a good show. I did not see the end of this episode coming. I honestly thought they were going to stretch out that situation for the entire first season at least. It will be interesting to see where they take this character from here. I know where he goes from a historical standpoint, but emotionally, how do they keep this guy going? I also like they way the subplot with the gay dreads dude got resolved. Good storytelling...And those Romans sure knew how to orgy!

I totally with you on all points. That guy is just evil and his wife is just as bad. I can't wait to see where this goes. I can't see him being a slave for long, especially when he finds out what happened and he's bound to find out.

Almost every episode after the first one has been ending unexpected, that what's good about it, the ending you thought you was gonna see it's never it. I am also waiting to see what will they do with his character now. I mean, his wife was his whole motivation.

"This, gentlemen, as they say, is where the plot thickens. ..."
Simon Peter Gruber

Other than some dodgy CGI in the end fight, another great episode. I think I had a nerd-gasm when he yelled "I am Spartacus!"
