Sound options after GH1 purchase?

I have a Rode NTG 3 and it is phantom powered. What are my options now that I have the GH1? How can I keep it powered for shoots that last 6 to 8 hours? I was thinking of buying a Tascam field mixer or even a H4N. Can I get enough power from these to keep the NTG going? What are some power options?
I used to just plug it into my DVX and not worry about it now that luxury is gone. A fair trade for the improved image.

6-8 hours is much longer than the batteries in a Zoom H4N will last. It makes a good XLR preamp, but you'll need to run it off a well-filtered power supply and watch out for 60hz ground loops.

Do yourself a favor and buy a preamp like the Sound Devices Mixpre if you're going to buy a H4N. The Mixpre has plenty of juice to power your NTG-3 for 6 to 8 hours. You may have to change the batteries once on both the Mixpre and the H4N but that's it.

You can also buy a P48 power supply. Another option, which is more money, is the FR-2LE and a a specialized battery such as used in toy car and plane racing. I think you can get more than ten hours using a toy car battery pack. There are a number of long lasting power supply options that you can adapt to various recording devices--some people even use drill batteries.
