sound on t3i and t5i

Hi,
i tried a t5i, i think that there is 2 holes for the inboard mic. It is stereo.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with the t3i . I ordered one, and i think it has mono built in mic.

Is the audio of the t3i is as good as the t5i ?

(yes, i will use external audio, but sometimes, the inboard mic can be convenient for ambiant, or if you shoot on the go).

Between the two, the T5i is a much better camera. Better image by far. The T5i also has manual audio recording level control, but in-camera sound on any of these cameras is going to be pretty shoddy.

The T6i actually took a few steps back, so don't bother considering it.

I've heard that the t3i has about the same image quality. Even the t2i has about the same image quality.

It is not the case ?

Not at all. T5i has lower noise at higher ISOs. They also made adjustments to the black points in the image sensor. I had a T2i, and I have a T5i. The difference is quite noticeable.
