Sound Not Importing into Final Cut! SOS!

Hey all,

Doing a weekend job which will later be a summer job... Recording on a Panasonic DVX100b. Doing Log and Capture right now in Final Cut Studio. The sound is playing on the camera and not through my computer. When I import the video, the sound isn't coming with it?!

What's happening! It's crucial that I have sound, as I'm recording a drum corps.

In the Log & Capture window go to the tab "Clip Settings" (will be the middle one). At the bottom you will see two audio meters, make sure when you are capturing that the green dot on the left side is lit up for both tracks. That enables the audio when capturing. A good way to check this is the click the Preview check box just above the audio meters, this will have the audio playback on your computer while capturing.

Hope this helps.

The sound doesn't play through the computer when you import, so just make sure your settings are set like Dave suggests above.

Like said above it doesnt play when you capture, but make sure the audio channels are selected, you can choose dual mono or stereo linked as well.

No no no!! THIS is what's happening. I log and capture, I hear the sound through the camera. Fine.

But when I double click on the clip after it is captured, there is no sound with it. Not even the sound meters are acknowledging that I have something there.

Open your Log and Capture window. Click on the Settings tab. Is Audio selected? If it isn't, the computer won't capture audio.
