Sound and Display

Hello,

This is my first posting so forgive me if it is not properly categorized. two questions- is the sound going into the red something to avoid? And if so, how do you avoid it? Are there adjustments to lower it, say if you're near a live band or is it something that is lowered in post?

And- really dumb question- where is the button that clears the display when playing back the video on a TV.

I'm new with the machine and haven't gotten too savvy yet.

Whew... I'm gonna have to suggest reading the manual, and getting Barry's book and DVD.

The audio levels are on the back of the camera (two small dials).

You actually want the level in the red, about three red dots is the sweet spot. I think there are six red dots altogether, you want to avoid sound spikes above that.

It's helpful to think of the first few red dots as yellow dots. You WANT the sound up in that range...
