C200: SOS I formated my C200 Cfast Card by mistake...

SOS I formated my C200 Cfast Card by mistake. There is any software to use to recover the RAW files? I already tried a few with out luck. Stellar Phoneix, Wondershare, etc wothout luck. Any clue would be appreciated

I did that once with my C300 Mark I - the files were toast. Could not be recovered. Even sent the card to Sandisk's recommended recovery vendor. So, if you can reshoot I'd recommend going that route.

The Canon RAW file is a proprietary format, so it's unlikely a typical file recovery app will be able to identify it properly. I would recommend looking at https://aeroquartet.com

They have a process where they analyze a similar file and use that to pull out the clips. It's far from full proof and it's not cheap, but it may be your only option. I once accidentally formatted a Sony EX1 card and I was able to recover about 80% of the material with periodic glitches. I was able to make a video though.

A couple weeks ago a friend had good success with AeroQuartet when he needed to recover files off of a CFast card that had been in (I think) a BMD Ursa Mini Pro. Anyway, here's part of what he posted in an email list we're both part of:

==========
We used a combination of tools, including a custom recovery service. I considered r-studio, but there were some steps that I couldn’t do safely. I may try it now that the card is available and we’ve already recovered what we can.

Aeroquartet.com was expensive, but recovered a file that none of the other software could find. I think they’re doing surface scans of the card and just forcing temporary format on the data. You tell them what SHOULD be there.

Otherwise, it was a combination of cardrescue.com and grauonline.de, tricks picked up from another user’s group.

None of the recovered files had audio in sync, most of them were recovered at the wrong frame rate, but that was all easy to fix, compared to loosing the material entirely.

exFat sucks.

So Greg (who wrote the above) and Brett both think Aero Quartet is worth at least considering.
