SOS HELP 24p/24pN & P2 capture issues

slowdance

so i shot this video and the DP walked off set and i was forced to shoot with the HVX200 as a complete newb, but the show must go on!

Most of the footage looks great, but i think i may have shot 60frame and 18frame varaible speed shots in 720/24p mode, not 24N mode. Is there any way to get these clips working at the frame rates i desire?

ALSO, when importing these clips that were shot at higher or lower frame rates into final cut, the clips tend to freeze up in the P2 importing previewer AND when i import them! the problem maybe my laptop lagging but it seems consistent. If i scroll through the footage, its all there, the play back just freezes up...
did i screw up big time?
help!
THANK YOU!

When you look at the clips in the variable frame rates you shot are they slow motion and fast motion?

That will help deturmine if you shot them correctly.. that is to say, no further steps of=r conversions are necessary to view fast or slow motion.

As for the P/PN issue, FCP6 should take care of it automaticly. PN just means the puldown is handled by the camera not the computer.

Perhaps you could remove the pulldown with cinematools???

As for the computer freezing I'll need to know speed of comp and OS along with what version of FCP you're using.

I use a 2.2 Mac Book Pro and have never had cips freee up. The canvas and viewer to "tear" the image but it's fine on export.

I hope some of this helps you.

WOW THX thank you,
the slow mo clips now are at the proper speed! BUT for some reason the one fast clip i shot at 18fps has turned to slow motion? and its not solid slow motion like the ones i shot at 60... is there a way to tell cinematools that this clip was shot at 18fps? it could be possible that i shot it at 60, but the motion looks jagged.
THANKS
