F5: Sony SR codec on PMW-F5

But when you're limited to 1080p with ZERO off-speed recording ability, there's simply too many shots you can't capture with SR444. Most ProRes-caple cameras give you drag and drop editing (a huge simplifier over the painful folders-within-folders structure of SR444), and they give you 1-whatever fps the camera can support without having to change formats or recording codecs. Their simply simpler - and that counts for a lot in production, it's one less thing to go wrong.

Not sure what you mean by "painful". The SR codec injests quite easily into both Media Composer and Resolve...which is all I need. As for off speed shots, there's an over-use of off speed FX in today's market, made possible by cameras capable of shooting off speed. Some 98% of my shots are on-speed, so, the occasional need for an off speed shot isn't that inconvenient. The only real drawback, I can see, is that I can shoot in HD, only. The post flexibility of a 4444 capture is readily apparent; and, at least to me, well worth the drawbacks.
