Sony SLT-A77 files corrupt?

So I got me the Sony SLT-A77 recently, purpose being a B cam along my Sony HXR-NX5.
I dared taking it on a job recently without prior extensive testing and now turns out that almost all of the clips from the A77 might be corrupt.
As in... using Log and Transfer in Final Cut Pro, the clips don't show up properly. I handed the memory card over to my client, don't have it in hands right now so I can't do any tests.
Has anyone here yet run into this problem? I was wondering if it is another bug of the A77? Heard about so many problems with the cam but didn't have any yet myself until now.

Another thing that struck me as odd is that sometimes after pressing the play button on the camera the videoclips don't seem to come up, only photos that have been taken. When I switch the shooting mode a few times its ok again and the videos show up. Any ideas?

Did you format the SD card in camera before shooting? I noticed on my NEX-5N that old photos on an SD card showed up, but not movies. Probably a directory structure issue in my case, but once I formatted the card, everything worked fine.

The person who hired me has my card right now. I'm 100% sure they have the latest version with all updates of Final Cut Pro (Studio) but I can reconfirm this afternoon. I suggested them to try converting with Neoscene but it's still in the morning over here so I have to wait for feedback.

Well, I just did a test with footage from my NEX-5N using FCP7.0.3, and Log and Transfer worked perfectly with the footage. I don't think I had to download any special drivers for the Sony AVCHD either, so without more information on their system, I can't tell you anything more than that. Sorry.

I also tested it right after I got their message, tried importing some clips with log and transfer and it worked without a problem.
They copied the files to harddisk and tried importing the copies, I suggested trying to log and transfer directly from card, maybe the file/folder structure got damaged while copying. Now I'll just sit and wait for their feedback in the afternoon.
Thanks Stephen, your support is appreciated!

Chances are, if they copied the files (.MTS, I believe) without the corresponding folder structure, then FCP won't recognize the card. In that case, they could use something like ClipWrap to re-wrap/transcode the files to whatever flavor they might need.

A77 mov and avchd files have its own wraper

You will have to take the files into MPEG Stream clip. and make them into a pro res 422. the quality is great unfortunately because the camera is so small it does not have the codec of the other sony's.

I shot a commercial side by side with an AF100 using prime lens and it look very good and i am very happy with the purchase, yes its a pain right now but once more people have this camera to complement other sony camera gears you will see sony will have a plug in for FCP.
