Sony RX100 IV - 4K

Does anyone know if there is a recording limit for 100/120p as there is with 4k? I know there is no recording limit in this mode with the RX10 ii so if there is a limit in the RX100 iv it will be due to heat not buffers or anything of that nature as with the even higher frame rates.

I received my rx100 last night. I was eager to try out the 120 fps and 4K but I was getting error messages about my card.I was using a sandisk extreme pro 95mb which I shoot my Bmpcc with and it wouldn't work. I looked through the manual and the card ticks all the boxes except it has to be a minimum 64gb card. I was trying with my 32gb card. Why wouldn't a 32gb card work? That just seems odd. Anybody have success in these modes with any other card? Thanks

A guess, but I think it has to be an SDXC card - not SDHC, regardless of other specs of the card.

Which were you using?

Do you think that the 1080 video quality and jpeg photo quality of the RX100-4 is about the same with the RX100-3?

And how are people getting the overheating issue with the rx100-4. Are they shooting 4k 5 minute limited videos one right after another without the camera cooling off?

Any comments from people mostly using this camera for video.
thanks

still curious to see if the jpeg photo and 1080 video is about the same between the rx100-3 and rx100-4?
This is all I would really use this camera for.
thanks

I have not even had time to review footage but I was able to shoot 3 to 5 minutes 4k clips about two minutes apart with no evidence of overheating in about 90+ degree F over the weekend.

The camera handles exactly the same as the Mark III, just has the extra features. You need a SDXC, 64GB or bigger, and UHS-3 for the camera so you can leverage all the features.

Once I have time to offload content I will upload. If JPEG Photo and 1080 video are all you are looking for I'd look strongly at the Mark III. I'm not sure picture profiles and SLOG are worth the premium if you are shooing 1080P.

It's also a small sensor, I can already tell that SLOG introduces quite a bit of noise.

Recently been wanting another camera (curse your brain I dont need more gear) and this might be it. The D750 are great but seem to be a little harder for me to color grade (personal problem and I just need to learn to grade since there are no luts to help me as handicap) but no 4k and no slow motion. The Rx100 has both of those, plus sLog is nice, and more importantly the size! I can use this thing anywhere as it's so small, plus it will fit on a nebula which would mean I could easily throw it in my bag for documentary work and some corporate work I do without having to drag more gear with me, while still getting a really good image! If only it had a mic input for good audio.

Hello, I am not clear what would be the best card. from what I read, people say a class 10 , 128 gb for video, and sdxc. I plan to buy the rx100 m3 camera and I want to film Xavc-s video for best results. Can I also film with this same sdxc card in AVCHD?
here is a quote from a forum I read, "The RX100-lll is compatible with both. SDXC is used if you will use XAVC-S video and SDHC is for AVCHD. The Transcend card which is a SDXC card should work fine except no AVCHD video.

Not clear I understand, I would like a card that I can film both if possible.
Can anyone also direct me what brand of card would be good to get and not too expensive.
It would be nice to use this card later if I upgrade to a 4k camera.
