Hi everybody -
and welcome to all owners of the NEX-FS100 and those who will get it in the future!
Some of you may use it or not - for myself, I really like (or better said) LOVE using a top handle on a camera -
that and the ND-filter-wheel really let me miss my (already sold) AF-101 - but to be honest, the picture-quality of the FS100 is without doubt a class for itself ;-)
Beeing disappointed, not finding a custom solution to "tighten" my new Camera up - I first tried to find someone, who can build me a custom top-handle for the NEX-FS100 -
I was told, that one hour work would cost me over 50 €, what would mean about 400-500€ (about 600-700 USD) just for a top-handle solution!!! That is the market here in Germany - hard reality!
After researching the world wide web for a solution to the "standard" Sony top handle for this absolutly stunning, amazing, beautiful and great camera -
I found this (prototype - nearly finished) from Berkey Systems:

UPDATED PICTURE (Take a look at the hotshoe mount - the handle slides in and is given three optional positions - using the original Sony Top handle)

After calling Mr.Berkey to ask him some questions about the FS100 support,
he send me these pictures of an upcoming FS100-Baseplate (still a prototype):
If you are afraid of broken baseplates and don´t trust the "plastic" , you will soon have a very versatile solution....
so what´s nice about that base-plate (at least for me) is, that you can use the "bare" baseplate as a secure-plate and mount a dovetail (f.e. from Manfrotto) on or under it, to mount the Cam+Baseplate directly to a tripod, dolly, slider or a steadycam!
I already know, what the built-quality and service will be: 100% top-notch - as I already purchased a custom Steadicam to Glidecam adapter and didn´t find anything like it in the web!
I realized, that I got two options: build my own (and pay like in my "german" case a lot more for a 50/50 solution) - or get something like stated on the pictures.
P.S. I am not an employee of berkeysystem nor am I getting any profit from opening this thread: it is just sharing my happiness about what I saw on these pictures!
