So we all talked about doing it... I figured I would bite the bullet and put all the picture profiles out there into one place. Let me know if I forgot any and I will continue to update the thread.

Knee setting: 105% and slope +5 in combination with Cinegama 2 does a nice job here.You pay for it with lowlight sensitivity and some noise.
But you don't have to shy away from highlights anymore and when you expose correctly, it´s fine.

ABEL Cine Profiles
=====================

- AB Norm -
Has minimal adjustment and is intended for controlled lighting scenarios and studio work. ITU709 gamma curve used with a 85% knee point and -2 slope to maximize dynamic range.

Black Level: -3
Gamma: ITU709
Black Gamma: Range = High / Level = 0
Knee: Point = 85% / Slope = -2 (I, the op, personally set this to a 102.5% knee and +1 slope)
Color Mode: Type = Cinematone1 / Level =8
Color Level: -3
Color Phase: 0
Color Depth: R=-2, G=-6, B=-7, C=0, M=+2, Y=+5
WB Shift = All 0
Detail = Level = -3 / Manual Set = Off

- AB HILIT -
Has the same minimal adjustment found in AB_Norm but uses the CinemaTone1 gamma curve. Knee point and slope set to maximize dynamic range. It is intended for use in scenes with bright highlight ranges, such as a bright day.

Black Level: -2
Gamma: CinemaTone1
Black Gamma: Range = High / Level = 0
Knee: Point = 102.5% / Slope = -1
Color Mode: Type = Standard / Level =8
Color Level: +1
Color Phase: +1
Color Depth: R=-2, G=-6, B=-7, C=0, M=+2, Y=+5
WB Shift = All 0
Detail = Level = -3 / Manual Set = Off

- AB Range -

Maximizes the full range of the camera. Takes the same adjustments in AB_HILIT and reduced the saturation overall, which helps in post. Increased black levels to push up any details that might be lost. The CinemaTone1 gamma curve is used with a knee point settings that get the most out of the sensor.

Black Level: 0
Gamma: CinemaTone1
Black Gamma: Range = High / Level = +7
Knee: Point = 102.5% / Slope = -1
Color Mode: Type = Standard / Level =8
Color Level: -3
Color Phase: +1
Color Depth: R=-2, G=-6, B=-7, C=0, M=+2, Y=+5
WB Shift = All 0
Detail = Level = -3 / Manual Set = Off

- 5DM2_Standard -
A look that matches that of the Canon 5DII. Uses the CinemaTone2 color mode to match the colors of the 5D, and ITU709 with a crushed black level to match the overall gamma curve. Detail is set to +1 for this setting to match the standard sharpness effect found in the 5D. The resulting image is very saturated and the blacks are fairly crushed, so use at your own caution.

Black Level: -6
Gamma: ITU709
Black Gamma: Range = High / Level = -1
Knee: Point = 75% / Slope = +1
Color Mode: Type = CinemaTone2 / Level =8
Color Level: +2
Color Phase: 0
Color Depth: R=-2, G=-6, B=-7, C=0, M=+2, Y=+5
WB Shift = All 0
Detail = Level = +1 / Manual Set = Off

- 5DM2_Tec -
This matches the Technicolor Cinestyle picture profile for the 5DII as closely as possible with particular attention to the gamma range and matrix. The result is a very desaturated image with very high black levels.

Black Level: -2
Gamma: CinemaTone1
Black Gamma: Range = High / Level = +7
Knee: Point = 75% / Slope = 0
Color Mode: Type = CinemaTone2 / Level =8
Color Level: -6
Color Phase: +1
Color Depth: R=-2, G=-6, B=-7, C=0, M=+2, Y=+5
WB Shift = All 0
Detail = Level = +1 / Manual Set = Off

- JR45Cine -
Attempts to replicate the look of the Panasonic Varicam. Combines the CinemaTone2 gamma with some color adjustments to get as close as possible.

Black Level: -3
Gamma: CinemaTone1
Black Gamma: Range = High / Level = 0
Knee: Point = 102.5% / Slope = -1
Color Mode: Type = Standard / Level =8
Color Level: +3
Color Phase: +1
Color Depth: R=-2, G=-6, B=-7, C=0, M=+2, Y=+5
WB Shift = All 0
Detail = Level = -3 / Manual Set = Off

Those Abel Cine Profiles were altered on their website. All Cinetone 1 gamma profiles previously were Cinetone 2. Everythin else is the same. Why did they change this without mentioning?!

Andy mentioned it on Twitter. The text above the PPs on the Abel site is a bit cryptic though.

I hate the fiddling with all the pictiure profiles so I created a small application to load, save, edit PPs and create or modify camera setting files.

The application (WinXP SP2 .. Win7)
http://www.mhst.de/downloads/CamProNexFs100.zip

You also need the runtime engine
http://www.mhst.de/downloads/LV2011SP1RTEmin.zip

and here are some more optinal picture profiles (more or less useful)
http://www.mhst.de/downloads/NexFs100-PP.zip

Oh yes, there is no handbook...

New: Creates a new camera settings file (replace the DEFAULT.DAT with your preferred CAMPROnn.DAT file)
Open: Opens a camera settings file CAMPROnn.DAT or a single picture profile file *.PP (select the correct "Profile" number)
Save: Stores or replaces a camera settings file (be careful, select the correct "Setting" number)
Save PP: Stores the picture profile into a .PP file
Copy: stores the PP as text into the clipboard
Explorer: opens the folder where the camera settings and profiles are stored
Setting: camera setting number
Profile: Number of one of the six PPs of the camera settings file

Have fun...

Wow! I'm downloading it right now.

If I understand correctly, I can save my camera profile, open it in your app, put some pp in it, and put it back in my camera. This way I keep my camera setting while changing pp?

Great!

Yes. But be careful - backup your actual CAMPRO files (the application overwrites them without asking)

BTW: The installer copies my default camera settings into the applications folder (DEFAULT.DAT). You can replace it with your preferred CAMPROnn.DAT file or you can copy a CAMPRO with the name DEFAULT.DAT into the same folder where all your DAT and PP files are located. Then the application starts with your preferred settings.

Hey guys and gals!

So I can here as I have a Google Alert setup for "Sony FS100 Picture Profiles". We have a PDF of all the profiles we have found online here.

If you have any others, we're glad to continually update the file :thumbsup:

Any news on thet app Martin?

Hmm - i was too fast with this app. Let's explain the problem:
There are 64 bytes of a checksum at the end of each file. The checksum of the first 34 bytes is simple. The algorithm for the second 34 bytes are actually unknown. It also looks not very complicated and seems to be a similar algorithm. Possible solutions are: looking at the bits and bytes and waiting for a good idea (like I did with the first 34 bytes of the checksum), asking sony and/or starting somthing like a brute force attack.

michael-

thank you for assembling the "must have" picture profiles.

and thank everyone who contributed their pp to the effort (that is you Frank and others!)

i just want to be clear:

your designation of v2 on these pp suggest these are designed to work with the updated sony firmware.

right?

sorry if i am asking the obvious.

(i do that sometimes-mea culpa)

be well.

By V2, I mean that these profiles were all released or adjusted to the new firmware. There might be other older profiles that I just didn't come across.
