DSLR shooters have been waiting a long time for a lens like this. I hope other manufacturers pay attention and consider the same type of lens for other formats.

Kudos Sony.

You will have a long wait for a full frame DSLR with power zoom controls like there is on the full frame VG900.

To be honest:

Why does Sony introduce a lens like this for FF cameras and not for their 4 E-mount videocameras?

I was hoping for a native lens for my FS100, but 28-135 is clearly meant for FF rather than S35.
It's just to long on the wide end for docu or ENG style work.
It's so typical for Sony - lucky A7s owners... sad FS100/FS700/EA50/future FS7 owners!

I bet they plan to put out FF video cameras as well down the road and this can be used both with the FF and S35 cameras. As for me, I would rather have had it as a 50-150 or so. So there's no pleasing everyone.
And there is already the 18-105 and 18-200 power zooms that cover wider ranges.

I haven't seen a single frame where one puts this on the shoulder where the shoulder pad in on the shoulder.
Still seems very usable to me. If it saves me €1000 by not having to by some overpriced cage just to be able to use my camera on the shoulder occasionally I'm happy.

Yes there is already something. Ever tried to use the 18-200 changing focal length fast and refocusing? Not to mention it can't hold aperture while zooming in. This one is okay but not a real keeper...
Ever tried the 18-105 on your FS100/700? Good luck with the distortion this lens introduces (without electronic compensation). It's just not usable, allbeit nice in every other aspect (constant aperture, constant length).

So where is one nice e-mount zoom really usable for video?

Sony has announced a firmware update for the FS700 to support the new zoom lenses. Probably no such luck for the FS100 though. So my guess is that the 28-135 won't be a good fit for it anyway.
The 18-200 power zoom worked really well for me on EA50 and FS700 for shooting live performances combined with the face detection function. It's a shame it's a bit too slow though. I sold it along with my EA50 but really miss that lens.
