Ok, yeah, i’ve not seen anything black magic that suggested 15, especially the 2013 models. But i’ll definitely go try one out. Which one do you recommend?

The bm’s are pretty optimistic about their numbers too.Forgot the C200 and C700 (one of the models) claiming 15 stops, but again...Canon is generous with their numbers, IMO.
If we're going to talk about unrealistic dynamic range claims, let me remind you that with the original a7S Sony claimed 15.3 stops of DR (link). I owned that camera, and no, it did not have 15 stops of DR. For RAW stills, dxomark measured it at 13.2 stops (link). In video mode, maybe 12 if you're feeling very optimistic about your NR plugin of choice.
Totally. Obviously the trend has been longer, I just meant on the 15stop dr spec. which I think has not been something much officially advertised prior to four years ago. There was 14+.I think only four years is generous! There has always been creative truth stretching in this industry. From the pixel shifted 1080p to the Canon Uncompressed* output from the 5DMKIII. Sadly I do not trust what any of these companies say
* the path from the compressed mush through the HDMI port is technically uncompressed as it is not compressed further...
This was the comparison that made me lose interest in BM
But it really hasn't been that great of a camera company.
