my FS5 arrived today, pretty neat little camera. anyway, I've been looking forward to the GPS feature, the cam even has "GPS" printed on the handle, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to enable the GPS. I've scoured the manual & menus. GPS isn't even in the manual index, what gives?! anyone clued in? firmware?

Although a GPS mark is displayed on the handle, GPS is a function that is planned for a future firmware update.
That is what is known as false advertising! Perhaps that was to be a feature that was included in the initial feature set and got removed late in the roll-out.
Just found it on page 8 of the manual:
"Tip• Although a GPS mark is displayed on the
handle, GPS is a function that is planned for a
future firmware update."

I think the EA50 had it as well?
