Sony A7sII Initial Impressions

Yes only because the battery was ran out.
When the battery sign is blinking you have 1-1.5 min to stop recording.
After then the cam shut down and the file was corrupted.

Were you shooting in 4K? Which bitrate? What memory card were you using?

4K, 24p, 100Mbps. The battery did not run out. The card was SanDisk Extreme Pro 95MB UHS class 3 -- never had problems with this card before. A SmallHD 502 monitor was connected.

I would like to confirm that your file corrupted ONLY because your battery ran out. But no other reason other than that?
I also got a corrupt file after my camera fell (fortunately not on the pavement, but still got a shock and ended up with a bent filter thread on the lens only).
Another time I got a corrupt file for no apparent reason on the RX10, clip was small and I recorded the scene again, but still annoying.
By contrast, I happened to run out of batteries during events a couple of times but everything was recorded smoothly.
It almost appears like another software bug from Sony...

Ok. So for those who have played with it, can we have some picture profiles/settings that seem to work well/that people like so far on the A7s II?
Also, can we get a few comments on what pp and settings seem good for low light/interiors vs exteriors, etc.

THANKS!

Guys did you noticed the slog noise between 6400 and 10000 iso? Once you hit 12800 its almost clean. Going back to 10000 also clean. But going from 8000 to 10000 keeps very noisy.
Just test it on slog3, its easy to see.
Firmware 2.0 doesnt fix it.

take a look at this:

AdvanTech sent me a couple of clips to measure rolling shutter on the a7S II. As it turns out, it's exactly identical to the rolling shutter speed of the a7S: I got 30.4 ms in 4K and 30.3 ms in 1080p. Full table here.
