Norbro, I just read a post on DPReview about how leaving the battery door open on the a6300 when recording 4k video helps with the temps. Have you tried this yet?

I can try it for you guys if interested for sure, but I really don't know how much it will help if a V-mount dummy battery only extended the time by a few minutes.
What did the DPR article say?
From experience, I believe that they all - RX10II, RX100IV, A7RII or A7SII - will eventually overheat with heavy continuous internal recording. I once rented three RX100IV units for a small multi-cam shoot, and I found it interesting how one of them overheated way sooner than the other two. (And it was doing this all day.)

can anyone verify if the overheating issue remains in 1080p modes? I didnt see any results about this in the thread. I often record for 50-60 mins at a time and can't afford to overheat but I want to replace my gh3';s.
