"New Sony sensor has 21 stops dynamic range, 5120 native ISO – and destined for high speed cinema camera NOT a smartphone!"

Amongst other interesting specs: Maximum frame rate is 36,000fps in 720p. Even at that frame rate the analogue to digital conversion is maintained at 16bit. In 1080p vertical the maximum frame rate is 24,000fps, decreasing to 16,000fps if 2K horizontal resolution is maintained. In the other mode (labeled HDR) it does 2048 x 2160 at 8,000fps. In 6K/4K mode the sensor active color pixel sampling kicks in and provides a resolution of 6144 x 2160 at 240fps.

I'm selling my F55 right now and pre-ordering. I'm also selling all my lights, too bad I just got into HMI's - won't be needing those anymore either.

Basspig is going to be fuming at how slowly the footage plays back on his system.

[Nate Haustein]

This is cool that they're developing technology like this, but the article is from almost a year ago...

^ yeah just noticed it was from November 2014. I guess it was FUD.

I'll take my F55 off the market now.

LMAO. He's going to need a $300,000 custom editing system for this one. Or just an iMac.

LOL @ the editing rig comment.
