"Someone Like You " cover music video

It was done in post, tried to make it look as natural as possible. The mic I borrowed from a friend, its a real MCcoy from the 50's. Thx

What steadicam did you use for the walking beach shots?

Also, I wonder how some aspiring musicians on youtube are able to rack up millions of views while some don't break out the same way. Maybe you should send this to the Ellen Degeneres Show or something to get some exposure : )

Thx Svem,

The "stedicam" is a Glidecam 2000 pro model. It's some what difficult to use because you are holding the camera and the post or shaft that is balancing the camera so your arm gets tired quickly. The other problem I had was using it without an external monitor, I was fortunate to keep most of the footage in focus without an external monitor. I also had a hard time keeping it balance with the wind blowing that day, all together it worked out nicely but it's much easier to use with the vest, my friend has one that he uses for weddings and it rocks.

I have often wondered what people do to get that number of views on their post, it's truly amazing to me the number of views some of them get. I'll try and send in her video like you suggested to Ellen's show. I'm just trying to help her reach for her dream, lol. Thanks for watching Svem.

It seems Ellen already featured someone from youtube who covered the same song:

She even signed them to her record label.

They managed to get 5 million + views!!

With Christmas coming up why not try covering a Christmas song and sending it in to the Ellen show or some local tv/radio station.

Cover and make a video for this?

But I also wonder if a "polished" looking video might work against an aspiring artist on youtube because it might be that people like seeing the "underdog" type thing with a talented singer just recording songs into their webcam and they feel they found a yet undiscovered talent type thing. People like being pleasantly surprised and that adds to the viral factor of a video perhaps. Just theorizing.
