C200: Someone is finally going to offer a 3rd party Canon mount battery with D-Tap!

Will purchase several when available, this helps to keep the rig lighter as my accessory monitor or light requires batteries that add to the overall weight, and the option to power them from D-Tap is a big plus.

Really smart. I have an F3/Video Assist and these work great for that.

I will say, any aftermarket battery is not 100 percent reliable. I’ve had a few instances where the swit batteries wouldn’t communicate with the camera and refuses to power it.

I've had the opposite experience, I had two factory batteries for my C100 and C300 and two aftermarket batteries. Same performance from all four for about 3 years. Also have a few factory LP-E6s for my Ninja Blade and a pile of aftermarket. They all develop memory eventaully but the aftermarket rate of attrition seems to be about the same. Similar results with our four Go Pro Hero 4 Silvers and Blacks. Use the Go Pro stocks right next to the third parties, same performance and results. I would modify your statement to "I will say, any battery is not 100 percent reliable" But I understand, you've had a different experience, that sounds like a bummer.

It's funny, this "engineered incompatibility" didn't really exist in cameras/batteries in this industry until Canon came in. Pretty much every battery that was used on cameras was always "third party". Usually Anton Bauer. Some Pag. Some Frezzi. Then IDX came onto the scene... Etc., etc. Of course, I'm also referring to broadcast ENG cameras.
