Someone explain this to me....please....

Okay, I have read all the posts on the Mini35 adapters. I have done the research. Can anyone tell me, for the love of god, why is the P S Technik Mini35 Adapter over $10,000 (when you get what you really need) and the M2 is about $2,000? I mean, there must be a difference of substantial proportions.

I know that the PS Technik one does not flip the image. Well, big deal because (a) the image can be flipped with an onboard monitor and (b) the non-flipped image causes even more light loss when shooting.

So, what is it then? This is also a chance for the folks at PS Technik to respond if they care to, because they are on the verge of losing this entire market sector in my opinion.

By the way, I am strictly talking about using the PL mount on the M2, not the still lenses. Cause I want nothing to do with trying to pull consistently decent racks with still lenses.

Anyways, please someone help me with the magic answer as to why the vast price difference. Thanks.

A few reasons:
The $10.000,- includes:
- handles and shoulder mount
- You can start/stop both adapter and camera from a single button.
- The finish is much better and the adapter design is more robust.
- Optical image flip
- retractable rods - nice for wideangle.
- Because of the scope design of the image flip, you need to set the focus on the HVX to around 1.44m and not macro. The HVX lens performs better at this setting especially at the edges.
- Uses standard HVX battery, instead of the 9V.

Testing them side by side, I did found the Mini35 to be sharper than the M2 and more resistant to flare. Off cause this was while using $20.000 zeiss optics.

So if you want the best for Zeiss optics I believe the Mini35 is the way to go.

One bad thing about it is that you cannot stop down the 35mm lens, which you can on the M2.

I do have the M2 myself.....
