Some Slo Mo Questions

Not sure if this should be here or in the FCP section, but since I shot it with the 7d I will put it here... mods feel free to move it and i apologize for making you do so...

So, I have a scene that is going to end up being around 3 minutes, give or take. It is a basic idea and would rather not have people comment on "I have seen that so many times" or anything of that nature. Basically, a character destroys a cabin living room. He tosses couches, an ottoman, CDs, a computer monitor, etc. I shot it all in 60p bc I knew I wanted to put in slow motion. But here is my concern... it is a bit too slow and bit too dramatic when I conformed it in cinema tools and then brought into FCP.
So I am wondering if I can adjust the speed once it is in FCP without having to start all over in cinema tools. I click on a link and even though it is in slow motion, since it has been brought in at 24p, it shows up at 100 as the speed duration. If I move that up to about 135ish, it feels like better pacing. So my question is simply... am I missing anything... Is it doing anything wrong with frames or anything of that nature that it will not look right when compressed and moved to DVD/Blu Ray. Any concerns at all that I should be aware of by doing this?
thanks for the help

Wish I could help you - I'm pretty good at Sony Vegas and would be able to help you if you were using that :(

you don't have to slow down all of it, 3 mins is a very long time. you could just slow down what you wanted to slow down and leave the rest real-time.

if you still have the original file, just drop it on the sequence and remove blending.(it would have been better to shoot a multiplier of 24 like 48, 96, 144).

slow down the part that you want from that.(try not to go less than 40%)

if the image jerks a bit at playback you could use the blending option in motion.

okay so for future reference (which we have another day of shooting on march 13 where i was planning to use slo mo) just shoot in 24 and slow it down in post? don't mess with the 60 to cinema tools ordeal?

"shoot 24 and slow down in post", no that won't work at all.

i guess we are talking about one camera and it only have fixed fps, then shoot in 60p.

if all the shot is going to be slowed down like a sudden slow down, then just split the part (copy it again)go to cinema tools change the speed to 24, then put it on the sequence.

if it's a ramping or only a moment of the shot is going to be slowed down then do the previous suggestion. just put the original 60p shot on the timeline and remove blending, then slow down the part you want.

unless i am just an idiot... i dont really want because i don't really like the way 60p looks... i would prefer to keep it at 24p... it would be awesome to shoot the whole day in 60 and keep it in normal speed and just slow down what i want in slo mo but that means all the normal speed areas will be in 60 and it just looks "home video" to me... am i still not understanding you? thanks for all the help too by the way
