There was a mention of zero gravity fire in the movie 'The Event Horizon'. Excellent movie btw.
They did have fire in zero-g there, but, it looked like typical gravity fire. Not sure if that's what max was referring to when he mentioned it. It was the first thing I thought of anyways.
Have fun rigging. I have several rigs to do next year also. I'm not really looking forward to that, hehe.
Has potential Josh but there is no way to make any judgement from those samples.
In theory it's working so far, proceed. It looks good for initial tests. Maybe try bringing it into a compositing situation when your ready and see how it plays out in that context. Yeah, just watch these early test posts. ehhhhhhh. Ya know? Don't want to give away everything.
Yep, they are just tests I figured I would share. We might be shooting a test plate soon then I can track it and do a test comp. Until then I'm just playing with settings and different looks oh and got to do some rigging .
Hey Josh. The fire in the 2 video tests were blown out too much but I see you brought it down in the photo.
Not sure what your looking for in terms of feedback but...the fire itself looks great.
I thought maybe it could have been a bit wider to fill the pot more. I notice fires in pots generally roll off the sides, I've had a few, hehe. I know if you stretch out the diameter of the flames to fill the pot out more, it may come though the sides, but I'd get as close as I could. Other than that and a background composite I'd say it's looking good.
Maybe just stick a picture in the background to get a feel for it in the next test renders.
Sorry if I'm critiquing too much. Not sure what feedback your looking for.
Maybe, I know sometimes, the lower outter edges might have bluer flames. Probably not in a pot like this though. I think the blue flames would be hidden, unless cooking with wine or sherry maybe. Looks good though.
Thanks for the feedback Gord. I'm looking for any kind of crits. I've been studying pan fires on youtube. You are totally right about the fire being a bit wider to fill the pot.
I think the thing about the pan fire is it's fire that looks like it would be seen from far away - looks like the flames are way too small for the scale that it is... but maybe that's just me...
