C100: Some of my BTS C100/C300 goodness for Resurrection: Prison Break S5

Doesn't help if you are addicted... :-) Shooting doc's in an unpredictable environment is pure adrenaline, the blues of the hunter.
'one hand for safety, one for the boat' is an old sailor's rule. Wide shot, wider shot, water: A colleague of me went overboard during a fishing show, LOL And I think here is a good reason to trust autofocus, auto iris, auto everything in dangerous circumstances, as it allows you have a quick surround scan every few moments.

great job, @puredrifting.
like the mood/emotions of some interviews, tells probably a lot about the soft skills of the shooter.

I see a lot of shared experiences in what you wrote JP. I will say on this show, the stunts and explosions were done in a very safe way and at no time did I feel that I was putting myself in excess danger. The one injury that occured did not happen during a stunt or explosion, it was simply a mechanical failure during a very mundane scene with the actor walking in through a gate, it could have just as easily happened to me when I walked in through the same gate dozens of times that day. You are also correct, we are not usually on the call sheet and it is a weird feeling to be part of the crew yet not part of the crew. Often the crew is in a remote location area or a month or months and we breeze in and hang out for a week. The other thing I have noticed is that we are the EPK crew. Often, the studio has also sent guest journalists and a crew shooting for publicity in too, often before we arrive so the crew and talent have already experienced "burn out" at someone being on set pointing a camera at them constantly. It's funny, most of the shows I shoot on are three camera shows a lot of the time the three production camera ops are shooting their coverage, handheld, in a semi-circle around a group of actors doing their thing and I stand in next to one of the camera ops. Me being there with my small camera, crunched in next to the ops with fully rigged Arri Alexas or Alexa minis, you'd think I would blend in, but no, having that fourth camera throws things off for the actors because it is one thing that is different, I am the variable.

My favorite are directors who like to rehearse, I can get in very close, shoot rehearsals and then fall back or shoot from a long way away for the actual take. Unfortunately for me, with the crazy schedules TV shows shoot on, (features tend to take much longer), this director didn't do many rehearsals, only on some fight and heavy blocking stunt sequences so I had to be ready to go, just like production. For a big show, this production moved very quickly. More and more, you are starting to see shows use digital shooting and digital explosions, which is fine by me as long as it looks good. The technology to do that is getting better and better. Nobody should die, be injured or maimed playing make believe because that is what we are doing. It's live theater only instead of stage, it's shot in a remote country for cameras, but it's senseless for people to be killed or injured playing shoot 'em up for the cameras.

Doesn't it seem funny that people, who's sole existence-their ONLY reason for being there- is to perform in front of and for a camera, don't like having cameras pointed at them except for the few moments of their performance-and then only certain ones in certain places.

We are strange animals

Adrenaline is that brown stuff that smells bad and rockets out of your posterior chocolate cannon, right? NO? Then I think my adrenaline gland may be broken.
