You could say that about any crappy video.

DOF is usually an aesthetic choice and it's the focus that's motivated. That's why overly shallow DOF get's old very quickly because the hunting around for focus breaks verisimilitude.

Frame rate is also an aesthetic choice and when you move away from that base frame rate it has to be motivated i.e the under cranking of fight scenes. These endless unmotivated slo-mo clips are tedious.
