Some movies just don't hold up.

I'm watching the 1990 release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with my kids tonight.

I actually like it better now.

I saw that again recently, but this time I finally realized that Elias Koteas played Casey Jones. So weird. He's so young, with long, flowing hair.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit/Cool World....any of those live action/animation films from the 90s. Wow...POOP. WFRR has been on TV lately in HD and I don't think that HD can help these....granted, the concept wasn't even new at the time, but at the time, they seemed better.

My 4 year old watched about 10 seconds of Roger Rabbit today, and she asked me to change the channel. holy crap, am i old? or are kids spoiled? both?

Dark crystal does not hold up.

I do however feel, pulp fiction not only holds up, but is. Better....

That's funny, The Dark Crystal is one of the permanents in my very small library.

But then again it was one of the reasons I chose a production career.

I'm going to have to agree about Pulp Fiction not holding up as well. Yes, there's a lot of really good stuff in it. I'm not even saying it's bad, or even mediocre now. It's a decent film, but it doesn't engage me the way it used to. For all the good stuff, it seems like there's a lot of BS as well. Speaking of films that used to be a favorite, but doesn't hold up as well: Requiem For A Dream. It has great performances all around, but something about it doesn't work for me anymore. It doesn't move me the way it used to.

Mine too..... it just comes across as hokey to me now...

This should make you all feel old! Mortal Kombat was fun when I was a KID. It's hard to believe that TMNT is 20 years old though. I'm nearly 22.

lol age fail. lol

well it's like I talk to people and they dont remember the 1980's so weird, like they don't know what wayne's world is either ah, you're killing me. you don't know what jurassic park is ahhhhh. whats robocop AHHHHHH.

there two different things about me when it comes to films I watch.... I loved kill bill vol. 1 but can barely watch it, i'll watch the second half now. I just think its a better film in the second half when i watch it now, (if it were whole it would be better).

but there are tons out there.

predator, alien, aliens, aliens 3, total recall, terminator 2 and tmnt 1 still hold to to this day and those are movie i watched all the time when i was a child.

both the bill and ted movie's have gotten better to me as well. very clever and funny.

Two movies I used to love just haven't held up for me: Monty Python and the Holy Grail and 2001: A Space Odyssey.

total recall is an amazingly fun film. plus anything by PK Dick, I love, except for the nic cage one. plus theres alot of classic things in TR.

Total Recall is still great to me. I do believe that was the first and last time that a tri-breasted woman has ever appeared on screen.
