ok I have 1.33 (I'm behind)

But using the AVCHD codec settings C

1. My Oly Mark 2 14-54mm lens CANNOT MANUAL FOCUS in movie or photo mode.
2. It limits clip length to 8:20 it seems, which is fine, BUT I CANNOT SEE HOW MUCH LEFT I HAVE on the card TOTAL.

what card?

ProSpec 16gb class 6

Ok I figured out the 8:20 part - I was in 720 P and didn't realize it.

But my Oly lens used to autofocus when you hit the shutter AND BE ABLE TO MANUAL FOCUS while shooting set to AF-S...I lost the manual part with the firmware upgrade PLEASE HELP - I REALLY WANT THAT BACK - switching to manual is a PITA during shooting.

HELP :

The data rate is upped I notice it's sharper and higher than 17mbs. BUT my memory card still says it can hold 2 hours 6 minutes EVEN THOUGH THE DATA RATE IS HIGHER and still keeps count pre-hack...like it's still at 17mbs - SHOULDN'T MY RECORDING TIME on that 16gb card be way down, like cut in half almost? I'm confused.

So far I have not noticed any stutter or freezing with the few minutes worth of clips even though my card is class6. I used the safe AVCHD settings where overall bit rate is 41000000 at FHD.

Lens focus issues are clearly not related to hack.
Just check all settings as they can be reset to defaults during update.

I used Kingston 8GB class 4 (forgot to change it). Everything worked. Full C settings on AVCHD. Checked H and L also to full settings.... Averaged 44mb/s....
Also did playback in camera. Using latest firmware. Is this right?

hello there. THE RECORD TIMES don't necessarily change WHEN LOADING THE HACK PATCH. It's a bug right now from WHAT I'VE READ. Just do a test and see HOW MUCH FOOTAGE you get out of the new settings and keep a MENTAL NOTE. no big deal.

Psynema, when I did Oly 4/3 lens tests a couple of weeks ago I could not AF+MF in movie mode (same as with Panny lenses). But then I tested with GH13. This would be a pretty cool feature to have, as it's helpful when in stills mode. A simple test will allow you to check whether what you describe is due to patched firmware (or maybe some related settings changing in the process). Speaking of "some related changes" - you said you are still on v1.33. Did you mean v.1.2X by that? Because the latest firmware distributed by Panasonic publicly is v1.32 and PTools is designed to patch exactly that version. As part of change log for v1.32 I see changes to autofocus behaviour, so perhaps what you are seeing is due to modifications introduced by Panasonic between firmware versions 1.2x and 1.3x. A quick way to check that is to load patched firmware with "Version Patch" checked on. This will change body version to v0.0. Then load the original Panny firmware v.1.32 on the card and upgrade to stock v1.32. Check your settings. If AF+MF doesn't work as it used then the breakage occurred in stock firmware, not patch.

Premiere is saying most of the clips have data rates at 1.0 to 2.0 MB a second which is less than the 17Mmbs rating by Panny...Odd.

One clip of folliage I shot was at 5.0MB a second which is 40Mbs, but not sure why all the other clips (indoors my apartment) are so low. They still look sharp and I know the GH1 is a variable camera, but thought the stream of footage would be higher overall for any clip.

I'll look into that. But I used to be able to, when set to AFS, autofocus by pressing the shutter then when it records, while still set to AFS, be able to manual focus. I did learn that I still can manually focus on AFS, but I have to keep the shutter pressed down halfway the whole time, which is a minor nuissance, as before, I didn't have to do that.
