some BW fooatge

UPDATE: Dec 17, 2006: Below is teh link to FINAL CUT with music, sound etc -- be warned since it's final cut there is a simulated sex scene somwhere in the middle. Also the title has changed to "Long Distnace." Enjoy!

Shot with Mini35 and 35mm lenses plus a few lights (mostly 200w) and a great crew. Heavy grain was on purpose.

damn, i really liked this! The lighting and location are both excellent! And the dolly shot at the end was extremely well done.

Excellent work.

Looks good. The moving shots look excellent, and it move's along nicely. Those are dolly shots, right??

There are a couple of cuts that don't line up (getting the wine glasses; sitting on the couch, initial "make out" clip, etc), but I'm assuming that this is just a rough cut, and it'll be cleaned up later. Also, there's a nice nipple slip in there too, but again, I'll assume you caught that, and just threw it in for my viewing pleasure. Thanks for that.

Keep updating... now I just need audio to know what the hell's going on.

looks great patryk (as usual). i really like the mood your lighting creates. i hope the acting will add up to the look you have created.

Yeah those are dolly shots. This is only a small compilation of clips before i handed over the tapes to the director. The acting was really great too -- mind that here i'm just trying to show some clips so no audio and no choice of best takes just few random clips.

The hard core happened somwhere inbetween (was filmed) -- but i won't be including it here -- i guess you have to wait a few months untill they finish the edit.

underexposed footage...

How do you do this? I'm new to this....sorry.

Plus, if it was magic bullet. Is it as easy as choosing and picking different looks. Or do you really need to know magic bullet.

Did you just do the "saturation" thing in post for the B & W? Or is it another trick i don't know?

Anyways, good job.

Patryk

I am a fan of your work; especially your lighting style. (Man I have a ton to learn). Very nice.

Bravo.

It's not really MB. Every editing package allows to desaturate the fooatge and then you just have to really increase the contrast with curves. It's really about finding the right contrast ratio between darks and lights -- normally shot fooatge will look a bit flat -- check out the shots inside the bathroom. Since nowdays we don't have much experience shooting BW I advise to experiment a bit as you will see that color often helps shaping objects and removing that color renders those objects a bit flat.

Thanks John_Hudson and KOVAROVA.

That was really cool! I can see so many different possible scenarios without the dialog ... are we going to get to see any finalized footage with dialog? I am dying to know what's going on now ;)

Looks very nice!

I think it's gonna take a few months to see teh final results. As i said before this is only a visuall rough assembly to show some fo the footage.
