Awhile ago the rubber grip on my 14-140mm's zoom ring came really loose and you kind of lift it up and look under it, and had to grip it tightly while turning. Eventually I put a rather beefy rubberband around it (one of those thick red ones) and now, like 4 or so months later, it seems the ring is no longer loose. I am keeping the rubber band on their cause why not, but if anyone has had this problem or ever has it this is a good solution. It also prompted some funny exchanges, like when someone on set asked what that red ring on the lens was and my AC responded that it lets you know that it's a Canon L lens.
