solid state drive real world live capture perfomance?

anybody out there have any real-world performance expreience with solid state internal drives in regards to video performance?

i have seen the comparisons out there, that they of course boot faster. are quiet, etc.
but what im concerned is how they do on continuous read/write perfomance. like if you were rolling non-stop for an hour with adobe on location... or even dumping a large P2 card to your internal drive...

id assume that they should perform similarly to a large P2 card. but id also assume that however similar, the two technologies arent the same.

thoughts?

SSD's are great ! They're fast , use less power (in general) and aren't sensitive to vibrations (you can use them in a car for instance) ! The down side is the price and the memory space.
Also make sure you check the performances (I'd advise you to use AJA System Test for any drives you are buying, SSD or HDD), some drives speeds are blocked because of a cheap controller. Intel are good, and Make sure to check OCZ too http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=ocz .

Has anybody replaced a laptop drive with a ssd drive? Real world experience?
thats exactly what i was hoping to find out. ive read all the specs, but that dont mean a hill-o-beans in real life...

Our MPB launches in three seconds from a cold boot, and shuts down in less than two.

Apps literally spring open without any wait at all.

Access speeds make this possible.

Wow...I had no idea they were that fast. It'll be a whole new ball game once they get bigger and cheaper. Looks like that'll be pretty soon too...

im looking at a refurb from apple that ships with the bigger 256 SSD in it.
sounds appealing... i like the idea of a factory installed drive because they wont cover drive issues under warranty if the user changes out the drive...

though from what ive read, the intel SSD handilly beats other brands... and i dont know if the apple folks are going to be able to indicate which brand of drive is in any given machine... not without a great deal of arm-twisting anyway ; )

too many freakin options!

Intel write speeds are slow compared to OCZ Vertex and Crucial

We have a Crucial SSD M225 and we find we use our MBP more often because it boots and accesses so quickly

Factory installed SSD, by Apple, are slower
