So with the T2i having a crop factor...

How can I truly have a short focal length? I plan on getting a wide angle lens (Sigma 20mm 1.8)... So wouldn't this be 32mm? Are all lens designed for Full Frame cameras or can I get special ones for APC-S size cameras? I apologize for the noob question and if this has been answered already.

That lens is a real flop.

Any lens you put on it will be affected by the crop factor in the exact same way. The difference between the full frame lenses and the APS-C lenses is that the APS-C lenses cannot create an image large enough to cover a full frame sensor...but if you filled in the black area they would look the same as the lens designed for full frame.

I have the Sigma 24mm f/1.8 for Nikon and I use it on my Nikon film SLRs and my Gh1 and it's one of my favorite lenses.

lots of wide options available, canon's 10 - 22 is fun. Shot a little test with it here: http://www.vimeo.com/10028520

The Tokina 11-16 f2.8 is the way to go though, great lens.

Sigma's 10-22 is another good option but if you're using a canon body i think Canon's lens is similarly priced.

I have nothing against Sigma; in fact I've got the 30mm f/1.4, which I bought for low-light situations. It's just that the 20mm has been excoriated.
