So... what is your Cam/NLE combination?

I have both a Mac and a Windows 7 desktop that I built myself. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. I primarily edit on the desktop.

Used to be HPX170 and Avid. Changed jobs, now it's Red/XDCam/DSLR/Alexa and FCP. If FCPX doesn't pan out I'm pushing to move to Premiere. Whatever works best and fits the budget.

No Mac vs. PC stuff, please.

Um... With all due respect, that was unnecessary.
I think people should be able to share their differences of opinion within the rules of this forum, regardless of previous trolling, flaming and my preference for a Blackberry Storm 2 over an iPhone. (Unless I am wrong and then I shall happily repent and be on my merry way).

Panasonic HPX170 and Edius 5.5

Edius looks awesome, I had a friend who was trying to get me to move over to it but (like Vegas) I just couldn't get into it. I think I like CS5 so much because of my history with Cubase and Nuendo, it almost feels like I am editing audio.
What is it about Edius that you enjoy? (My friend did some killer grading with it and ended up just using it for everything).

LMAO... wait, that lens on the front of that camera makes the whole thing look remarkably similar to an Af100 with a 14/140. hahahaha
Except the Battery is on the front instead of the back! Rolfmao dude!

Interesting combo there, flambe. Do you transcode the AVCHD to DVCPRO HD when cutting the two together? Or just leave them each native?

AF101 and CS5 is a sweet combination and that's what I use. Have been on Avid for fifteen years but the easy of use and the fact one can edit on both WIN7 and OSX is a big plus. Love the integration of the Adobe products also.

How do you experience your workflow speed in comparison to Avid?

Please begin the merry repentance. :)

Inherited the HMC from our arctic office but haven't use both on the same shoot yet. I imagine I would keep them native if I ever had to though.
