Makes me which my parents got divorced. Holy s*it.

I actually did quite well. My "big" gift was an 8 foot Kessler Crane. She is beautiful. She really is very well constructed. For the price, ya cannot beat it. However, the platform bolts do not fit either one of my quick release plates. Ugh! Looks like I will be needing to upgrade my tripod...

I'm not complaining though...it was a great Christmas. I was spoiled....

Rick
Hey Rick. Congrats on the crane...not much ads better production value than a clean, subtle crane shot at the right moment.

If you get a chance to post what tripod you come up with that would be great. I bought one of those Provista jobs that Rush was sellling for a couple hundred bucks and my Cobra crane 2 plus shredded it on the last usage. The tripod still works, but it's just not enough to support the crane. I'd be anxious to hear if there is an affordable choice to be found.

Happy holidays,

Jason

I will do that. I plan to call Kessler later today to help me figure out a solution. I need to find a head that supports the crane/bolts, and a tripod that supports all of it.

But like I said, she really is beautiful.

I'm sure neither of you wants to spend too much, but here is a jib tripod that should do a good job for you @ $579.

I have one for my EZFX jib and it is one strong tripod.

Hey thanks Terry. I will give them a call. I need to make sure it comes with a quick release plate; one that hopefully can accomdate my crane bolts.

i got "Las Vegas" seasons 1 & 2, "Seinfeld" 4-6 (5 & 6 came boxed together with a miniature puffy shirt). The "Indiana Jones" trilogy box set, "War of the Worlds", "The Sugarland Express", "Four Rooms", a book called Cinema its about movies from 1894-2005 "Friends" season 10 (yes i like that show. its funny to me). I got a cigar tie and a nice new dress shirt (i love dress shirts). I got editing software (vegas movie studio silver) my sister got me a framed picture of me jumping off a wall in full scuba gear into a quarry for my first dive after i got certified as a scuba diver.

that stuff i got was from my whole family not just one particular person in the family.

Couple of cool filmmaking books, a little CD-player alarm, a Christmas decoration with 2 snowmen and a light-up LED tree, a Polo shirt, another Christmas decoration snowglobe with 2 kids lighting a candle as Santa's sleigh cruises outside - it lights up and pumps snow inside and plays music.
My family is broke  But there's a lot of love, and I love these gifts very much. :) It's funny, now that I think about it, I only got gifts from the broke ones... The well-to-do ones just sent cards...

I got one of the coolest little 'luxury items' for christmas this year that I would NEVER have bought for myself:

The Bose Quiet Comfort 2 Noise Cancelling Headphones

Luis-

Those look really nice. I might have to check them out. But you are right...those are definitely a luxury item.

I find it funny, and great, that we ALL seem to have rubbed off on our significant others. We all seem to be getting film related gifts.
