So I produced and shot this after getting laid off

LOL jesus people - I wasn't a fan of the video either, but if you post a video on a forum for film/video...CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is what people should respond with...not one damn post was constructive.

I love this forum,

Kegan

I might as well post this because I know it's coming: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=154749

As for constructive criticism I can say it looked good for what it was. I'll always remember I the dismantling of the office done to this song. The fact it was thirty something white guys made it even funnier. Without the proper reference it just some guys beating on a Xerox machine and there's only so much you say about that. It was shot well.

So I guess you're not going to look for a job? Ok, then it's a legitimate effort -- first time filmmaker? Not bad...

I liked the song. The slo-mo was nice. Good luck with your film career. We all got to start somewhere. Many people have made worse movies their first time out.

This whole thing was shot an edited over a weekend. I wouldn't say that's a huge loss to my job seeking efforts. Actually, I've been working for the last 6 weeks pretty close to Burbank on feature films.

I'm glad to hear that. This goes to show no matter what movie you shoot it's better than just talking about a film. I believe in staying busy and using the equipment all the time. This is the advantage of digital. You can carry a small camera around and shoot something everyday.

The video takes an iconic scene and shows how the filmmaker not only relates but can constructively channel frstration in making a KICKASS piece. Thumbs up.

ps The toner cloud was better than CG.

I keep hearing it's dangerous, but all I see is an easily matted "smoke cloud" for stock footage. Time to start jacking the toner cartridges from work.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

This is actually leaked footage of the final episode of "Lost".

We now know where the monster came from and why he's so pissed off.
