So I got pulled over...

In Arizona they would put you in pink underwear and stick you in a tent prison in the desert. Now remember, it only gets to about 115 degrees this time of year and they have delicious green bologna sandwiches twice daily, so there is a positive.

Alright... I've decided to share this story.

I was staying with a DVXuser in Canada. His roommate had a marijuana plant in his closet. The DVXuser used my 5D and his macro lens to photograph the plant.

While crossing back to the US, they searched my car and looked through the camera... I don't blame them for that part. I was in a dirty minivan and I hadn't cut my hair in 5 months (decided not to cut it for the whole road trip)... so I looked suspicious.

They saw the pictures, and I ended up staying at the border crossing station for ~6 hours. During that time they thoroughly searched the minivan and my body cavities. It seemed like it was the guy's first body-search though. He was all timid and apologetic... which kind of made the whole thing hilarious at the time. I also wasn't trying to smuggle anything so it wasn't a big deal.

They also tried what I think was a good cop bad cop routine. One guy would come in and ask me some simple questions in a friendly tone for a while. Then the other would storm in and be like, "Listen kid. You tell me where you're hiding the drugs or I'm gonna tell my boys out there to tear that van apart. And if they have to find the drugs, things are gonna get a whole lot worse for you."

hahaha...oh, Canada.

hahaha...oh, Canada.

That border crossing going into Washington can be a big pain in the ass (no pun intended) sometimes.

Whenever I cross it, just be respectful and answer all their questions and you won't have any problems. There was a guy from BC that decided to ask a US border agent to ask politely and say "please"...he ended up getting peppered sprayed and rightfully so. I always find especially when your going to a different country your giving up some of your rights and you need to be respectful of that.

I think I've actually had a few times where getting back into Canada was harder than getting into the US.

Last time I worked at Fox Baja the drive back my apartment always involved passing through a Mexican Army inspection station. They always said the same thing - Buenos tardes, senor - do you have any illegal drugs or guns in the car, today?

Note the use of 'today...' - so I was always tempted to answer Today? No, nothing today, but you should have asked me *yesterday* - I had a couple keys of heroin and a machine gun, in the trunk!

But of course I didn't.

Being finger raped by state agents isn't a big deal?

They've got you trained pretty well.
