So Did the AVS Thread git Trashed

Oh, I'm not saying they're not a good place to buy. The guy I talked to on the phone was really nice and easy to deal with. I just thought I'd save people some time from calling up only to find that they didn't have any in stock yet. I may end up getting mine there if Barb's list doesn't get any shorter, and lerro doesn't get any more in...
 
The shipment that is coming in this week to AVS...is it 20 cameras with cards?
 
Barb told me it could be up to 30 cameras, because that's what she requested, but as for the actual number, they didn't know.
 
I know, I know....I'm a glutton for punishment and called Barb to get an update.

According to her, the venerable "them" said 17 cameras and 25 4 gig cards were shipped along with a few 8 gig cards. All cards and cameras have been called for already.

We're supposed to be called Tuesday with a tracking number.

I have already begun to make burnt tape offerings to the HVX Gods.
 
Has she called the people who are getting their's already? or is she going to call on tuesday?

I was originally number 25 (when only one or two had arrived) and I haven't received any call yet. I called a couple of times last week and they had not arrived.
 
I called yesterday. i didn't ask how many cameras were coming in but she said they shipped and mine is one of them. She said about 30 4gig P2 cards shipped too, so I asked her to add one to my order if there's any left (she wasn't sure). I think she said she would call me on Tuesday to collect the rest of my payment or something.

Just talked to Barb. She says Panny raised the price on their last order, so the price is going to have to be higher. Panny raised the price on March 1st. AVS placed the order of 25 cameras prior to March 1, but Panny is charging the new price because that's when the cameras shipped.

Not sure what to make of this. Barb is calling me tomorrow with the new price, she said she is doing everything she can to get the best deal.

Man, that sounds really outrageous. Is there ANONE who can explain Panny's distribution policies, and their relation to "authorized dealers"?
 
JP, when I talked with Barbara yesterday she did not mention anything about price increase. So it would be quite odd if she charges anything different than what we agreed. I have the original invoice and just dropped one item out of it (a 8G P2) yesterday.

THERE IS NO PRICE INCREASE FROM PANNY. IF dealer tries to raise the price than what was originally agreed to, go elsewhere.
