Snow, schmoe... we all know that you're really just a clumsy Colombian druglord, who sneezed when he shoulda snorted. :p

BTW, where the heck in CA are you? Above the treeline? It's 20C+ here in T.O. (I assume you're in CA b/c of what it says in your 'Location' field). Actually really nice here...no humidity...smog kept in check by the breeze...girls in short-shorts...

...there's a country code in there somewhere?

Ahh! Now I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not!
Use the emoticons damn it!!! :furious3:

Was referring to the "CA" from my post, not from Batutta's location. Edited above for clarity.

Nope, not being sarcastic. Just not seeing where the country code is.

*edit* okay, I get it. Thought you meant 'country code' in the sense of international telephony.

I still don't get how you got California out of that location either...

/confusion

Anyway, that's crazy! It's 85 here, and windy as heck.

CA = standard abbreviation for California.

CA = never-heard-of-it abbreviation for Canada.

That's all.

Sunny and clear, here. Which is probably what makes the place popular.

<lightbulb>
AAHHHH!! I was unaware of the Canadian abbreviation as well. Well, that's my new thing I've learned for the day. Time to call it a day and head home... in the sunshine.

Guys, ever:

Send/receive a letter/parcel to/from another country?
Visit a website with .ca/.uk/.XX in the URL?
Trade currencies?
See international news tickers?
See international sports tickers (ex. olympics results, not that CAN ever gets any medals anyway...)?
Etc.

I know that "CA" isn't as well-known as "US", "UK", or even "AU", but I'm pretty sure you've come across either it or "CAN" before. (I can imagine it now...watching the news ticker...Headline: "Polar Bear kills David Suzuki, near Whitehorse, CA"...you guys: "Hmm... think I'll call mom in San Diego to see if she knows about this..." LOL). Just poking some fun, guys. :2vrolijk_08:

Yes. But never from one passing itself off as "CA."

Visit a website with .ca/.uk/.XX in the URL?

Maybe that last one, a few times. That's the kind that streams porn, right...?

Trade currencies?

Well, at the little kiosk they have, in airports...

See international news tickers?

There's news happening outside the contiguous 48 states...?

Actively disinterested in professional sports, here.

We *do* have polar bears at the San Diego zoo, you know. Bears get loose, sometimes. Stuff happens.

Oh come on! Everyone knows if a Polar bear kills someone in CA(lifornia), it'll just be the zoo worker.

Edit: Looks like I was a day late and a dollar short on that one.

Max, I don't think anything actually happens outside the US. I've been keeping up with the volcano off the coast of Maine.

Maybe it's because I'm Canadian, but I always get confused (more so before than now) when people say they're from CA in the states, or just CA without specifying. I wonder, how could this person think Canada is in the US?

Maybe it's because I don't call Montreal as MTRL... no nice abbreviation for that. Also I usually only see people use two letters to talk about countries, unless you're from TO (always thought they were weird :)).

But yes, snow, it was snowing here a few days ago and stayed overnight, then melted. A few days later we were in shorts sweating from humidity... really weird weather. Where in CA (yes Canada!) are you from Battuta?

Maybe we should just start using airline codes. I'm in LAX, Jon's in YUL...wait a minute, how does Montreal come to be coded as YUL? Was Yul Brynner from Montreal, or something...?
