"Sneak": A Psychological Thriller from mentatDUKE Futuristic Pictures

I liked your film, but I had the same "why didn't the girl scream at any point while the cops were there" problem. Also the part after the credits seemed to lessen the horror of it all. Showing less would have been scarier. But the real reason I'm posting is that I NEED to know why you have some crossed out names in your credits. Is it people that flaked out on you or what? if so, I think we can all relate, but if indie films gave crossed out credit to those who don't do what they say will, then our credits will be as long as the Hollywood ones, but full of crossed out names. Please explain!

Thanks a bunch for the feedback cinealma. Glad you liked the story.
Seejay, thanks for the review. haha. The crossed out names. Yes. That is a shout out to the people who flaked out on us. My roommate and I thought it'd be a good laugh. :)

haha, i'd like to keep doing different funny gags with the credits and such but hopefully that's the last time anyone flakes out on us. Wishful thinking eh?

Alternate titles:

1. Blindsided
2. See No Evil
3. Blind Sight
4. Blind Truth
5. I Can See You
6. Seeing Is Believing
7. Insight

Well, that's all I could think of.

Nice short.

I really liked the scene with the cops. They sounded exactly like cops - trying to use big words and such to sound official and important.

I'm not sure if I'm the only stupid one, or this would even be a problem when viewing this film at full size, but I couldn't tell that the guy at the end was the blind dude. I mean I got it by the very end, but maybe you could add a shot where he's taking off his blind guy glasses as he walks to the girl's room. It would be a neat shot, too - him unmasking himself as the audience realizes he's the bad guy.

This might be a quicktime problem too, but the colors didn't seem nearly as vibrant as they did in your banner thing. I was really looking forward to that. Hopefully the full rez version is more colorful.

No, I had to rewatch the ending a few times. I finally got in tune with the color of the sweater. I think it's the editing too that ocnfuses things with the real hero of the film.

Charli. Interesting titles, but a bit too "on the nose".

luster and cinealma, I'm boosting contrast for the DVD version. I think that will help the muted colors.

Thanks for the feedback.

Also, have any of you guys watched the Character Monologues? I'd love feedback on those too.

This was the first clip I looked at. My previous comments still stand. I Thought it was intersting that the blind guy smelled the record before pulling it out of it's sleeve and gave it the 'OK'.

As I said before, the fight on the floor brought out a 'fight-response'
from me. I could feel it (believed it) and wanted to 'jump in' still I am helpless but to watch.

Then that Rhodes piano agian. (My time was the 70's and all).

I can't help you become a better film maker, your peers here will help you do that, but you still impacted me as a 'person', a 'viewer' and that is equally as important. At present...scores are for technical only, not for artistic imapct.

Maybe that will change next time around...

LOVED IT....No BS -gordo.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

I loved the way this movie was shot, the lighting was awesome and the cinematography was spot on. While this short didn't really terrify me (Funny "After ending" ;P), I really enjoyed watching it. I didn't expect the blind guy to be the badguy until near the very end (and at that point it doesn't really count! :p)

Favorite Scene: Everything was just perfect when the blind man was out with the cops, amazing.

I didn't get a chance to comment on this but the twist at the end was very cool. I wanted to see more when they were fighting, I couldn't quite make out what was happening at first. I think the guy was in his house to save the girl right? I thought that was hot. Good job there.

Just finally getting the time to copy the notes I compiled in a Word doc while watching the shorts:

This scored surprisingly strong, considering I’d not heard much of it. I found the premise to be really unique, as it would be horrifying to be blind, yet know there’s someone in your home that you can’t see & is there to hurt you. I also liked the twist at the end that appears to show the blind man is actually the offender, and the intruder was there to rescue the girl. Nice twist. And a nice comical & sigh of relief moment to know that when he entered it was another lego set in his hand that he wanted to assemble. I wondered why the girl would be screaming just because of that, but perhaps she realized that by seeing him vs. the other guy, she knew the other guy must be dead. Camera work & editing were pretty strong, and I really can’t pick out anything that I’d critique as needing improvement, though nothing stood out as a 10 for some reason either, like it had for on a few other films. Still, a very strong performer for me, one which I really enjoyed! Nice entry!
