Re-install the OS and then re-install FCP. Seems to be the only fix I could find, even from the boffins over in the Apple Discussion forums. Please share your findings if you do find another way, there are many of us who are suffering this issue.
Do a check, are you also missing the "Bad TV" and "Blur>Prism" plugins? They seem to fall into the same "I go missing for no reason" category.
Also, check to see if you have a folder 'Library>Application Support>ProApps>Internal Plug-Ins>FXPlug' and that the required files are in there. In my case, at one stage the plugin files weren't even in there, even though they were there when I first installed.
I can't go back tp 6.0 or 6.0.1 because I've started projects that will now only open in 6.0.2...
I've also noticed on my laptop that 6.0.2 DOES have the smooth cam plugin.. therefore I suspect it's got to do with other plugins conflicting with 6.0.2.. my 55mm set is also no good... ( that set was not installed on the laptop)..
Will let you know...
First I'm trying to see if I can find the FCP prefs file and trash that to see if that works..
Ok.. checked the folder and no FxPlug are in there... on the laptop they are...
So I've dumped the folder on to a pen drive and have loaded on the main machine...
The plugin now apperas and seems to work...
the "Bad TV" and "Blur>Prism" plugins? are also there... Bad TV works but Prism seems to just give me a black screen... I've never used that plugin so not too sure what is meant to do...
