C100: Small Rig C100/300/500 Top Plate

Too late to the party, why didn't anyone suggest adding a second point of contact at the focus plane screw?
But hey, at that price it sure beats all the other top plates that also don´t incorporate that screw;)

(Still hope they´ll manage the make the C100 handle fit their cold shoe mount...)

Damnit... I ordered one on the 27th... You would have thought that they would have tested it before hand... ಠ_ಠ

I sent an email to the guy I've been collaborating with at SmallRig about the Coldshoe so we'll see if they can get the issue resolved.

Yep just got mine today as well and after modifying it, there is another problem. The handle bolt doesn't go far enough to reach the threads of the cheeseplate. The bolt extends flash with the bottom of the cold shoe. So either the cold show has to have less meat or a new bolt has to be made for the handle that will allow to reach further...

Good catch!

I also let them know about that too. They said they are redesigning it and will have a new one out soon.
 
After some use (I am stacking two top plates on top of one another to make up for the inability to fit my handle in the shoe mount), I feel like it is coming loose easier than my Genustech plate. Will tighten and see how it goes - maybe it's just my debilitating fear of overtightening things coming into play.
 
Yes definitely email them.

from what they said, they will be getting samples in on saturday, those will go through testing, and then they will ship them out if everything checks out.
 
Replacement cold shoe arrived today (very fast shipping), and it's very bad. Internal dimensions are off, and the handle jiggles excessively, even when screwed in.
 
I'm just using a Wooden Camera shoe handle mount. Works perfectly with the SmallRig top plate.

Small Rig's EVF mount works great with the Atomos Ninja Blade too.

True, but at this point, how hard is it to get the dimensions right? Supposedly they got their hands on a C100 to get measurements. I just don't get it.
 
Yeah, I had a good laugh when I realized that they had messed up yet again. Maybe their tests were extremely lazy - maybe they were in too much of a rush to get this thing out. I'm not entirely sure what exactly is wrong, though. If the handle isn't fully screwed in the play feels about the same on both plates.
