Slowing down 60p even MORE?

Aquired at 60p. Slowed down in DVCPRO frame rate convertor... so now it's half speed.
My question is: Is it possible to slow down footage even more and still maintain high quality (frame for frame). I know I can hit "apple J" and slow it down... but the results aren't great.

It's a close-up of glass breaking so half speed isn't quite enough.

Thank you,
Michael

If you have Shake, you can use that to slow it down even more. Compressor also contains the same optical flow system for conforming to different framerates, and it can be used to make excellent slow-mo. Here is a thread at the Apple forum for details on how to use Compressor for slow-mo. There's also Twixtor, which I think does dynamic retiming, but I'm sure you could use it for just straight slow-mo.

There are many plugins/software which will actually "morph" in between frames thus creating a new frame(s) rather than interpolating in between frames which is what most editing software will do. Those plugins are not all created equal, usually the price will tell you how good they are... It also takes a bit of tweeking to get it perfect, especially if you have motion blur on you footage. Breaking glass should work very well.

After Effects does a very nice job of cutting the speed in half. Use Time Stretch and set it for 200%. Activate frame blending in your composition. Control-click on the layer in the composition and under "blending" choose "pixel motion."

This will interpolate pixels similar to the way Twixtor handles digital slo-mo.
