Slow Motion Problem with 720 24p clip

Hi All,

I have student that shot footage in 720 24pn and 720 24 on the same P2 card. Clips playback good in camera but in log and transfer the 720 24 footage plays back in slow motion with audio.

My question is, can recording on the same P2 card with different formats be the culprit?

We're running FCP 7 on a Macpro quad.

Thanks - Salvo

Would love to help, but this is a bizarre problem. I would check the clip information and see what that says, if you can post the exact settings of the clip in questions or a video reference to look at the slowmo playback with audio, I'll offer any suggestions I have.

My first thought is that on log and transfer you changed the frame rate.

This forum is full of working professionals, many who are busy, and based on the information in your post (or the lack of) its just a guessing game as to what is causing your frustrations. I encourage you in the future to use patience, and provide references to the problems you are experiencing to assist us in diagnosing the problem and offer suggestions, and I assure you this kind of problem is most likely not the camera or computer but the result of the user.

If you have audio, you recorded in P mode instead of PN mode, and you'll need to use the frame rate converter to get it to slomo.

If you want slomo out of the gate, no conversion necessary, you need to shoot in PN mode.

(Recording both modes to the card doesn't affect anything.)
