GH3 Slow Motion Lip Syncing Test In Premiere Pro

So I was experimenting with trying to lip sync video at various speeds using Barry Green's parameters in this thread:
http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?187340-Slow-Motion-but-Lip-Synced-Music-Video-Technique

I only used about 1.2 minutes of footage for each test but I think I may have come up with some base settings that appear to work well for lip syncing. I used Audacity to initially speed up songs.

On one test I shot at 30fps with the song sped up by 25%. I then slowed the footage down by 80% in PP and it seemed to sync very well. (Not sure why it didn't work for 75%, as that's what I tried first).

I then shot at 60fps with the song sped up by 30% and slowed it down by 77% in PP. This result may be slightly off by a half percentage or less but it seems 77% is close to a sweet spot.

Lastly, I shot at 60fps with the song sped up by 50% and slowed it down by 66.5% in PP. Again, probably slightly off by maybe a half % (67% seemed to be fairly close as well).

All footage was conformed to a 24p time base. I tried testing the 30fps footage in a 30p time base and there didn't seem to be any difference in how the audio/video synced. I'm guessing this holds true to other frame rates as well?

So basically my findings were:

30fps (sped up by 25%) -- slow to 80% in PP
60fps (sped up by 30%) -- slow to 77% in PP
60fps (sped up by 50%) -- slow to 66.5/67% in PP

All using 24p time base. Again, keep in mind these percentages may not be exact, but should provide a good starting foundation to work with.

Unfortunately, I didn't test 60fps sped up by 100%.

I have no clue whether or not I was doing this right as it seems the information provided in Barry's thread conflicts with my findings. I would love any input or feedback on this subject.

I've used this technique a few different times in Premiere. The best thing that has worked for me is doubling the speed of the song and record at 60 frames a second. Then play the clip back at 30fps in Premiere. It works in a 24p timeline as well. Here's an example at 1:23-1:27 in this video I shot:

Is there a way to conform 60fps footage to 30fps other than changing the 'speed' setting in PP? Thus far, I've been only messing w/ the speed settings but it appears there may be another way to go about it.

In other words, how exactly are you "playing the clip back @ 30fps"?

Right click on the clip in Premiere, go to Modify, then Interpret Footage. Set the clip to 30 fps instead of 60. Do this before you drag it into the timeline.
