Slightly OT: Question for any Manfrotto owners...

I'm trying to find a way to make my 150 work with multiple devices. Tripod, Glidecam, and a CB-105 shoulder mount.

My question is this: is the new 701HDV heads camera plate the same as the 501HDV or the 577 quick release adapter? In other words, are they all interchangeable?

I was thinking of purchasing the 701HDV head/547B leg combo, and two of the 577 quick release adapters for the Glidecam and CB-105 so I can just move from one device to the next.

Any info is appreciated.

Just by looking at it, the 701HDV has the same camera plate. They are ALL interchangeable provided you mounted the 577 onto the glidecam and CB-105 (which i've read and heard is kinda crappy).

Manfrotto wouldn't bring out a head and make it have its own unique plate for no reason.
 
I believe the answer is "yes." But I recommend calling B&H on the phone and having their best expert confirm it. I know nothing about the "CB-105," but it will work with the Glidecam. Again, call B&H and have them verify it.

I'm sure there's someone on this forum who will disagree -- but I can tell you in perfect honesty that I have yet to be disappointed in any way by anyone at B&H.

Oh the CB is crappy, really? Haven't heard that.

Anyway, I figured that Manfrotto stuff would all be interchangeable, but with the ad for the 701 claiming that it was compact fluidity and new fluid cartridges....I thought that maybe the head/plate were somehow smaller than the 501.
 
Yes they are interchangeable.

I have a 501 and 701HDV plate. They have the same 501PL plate.

Read some reviews on it, that's what I do before purchasing a product. Not alot of people really like it after trying it. Some have even gone to say that the videos used with it were played with in post to look that smooth.

I don't have any personal experience with it, which is why I said I HEARD it was crappy. If you love it and like it, more power to you.

So not to wander off topic, the answer is "yes" as already covered.
