slightly enlarging the footage - problem?

My lens protector wasn't screwed on completely correctly, and so a bit of the edge from it shows up in some of my wide angle footage.

If I take the 720p HD footage and enlarge it from 100% to 110% to cover up the irregular black edge, is such a small loss of resolution going to be visibly detectable to somebody in the know? I.e., are things like jaggies going to start making an appearance because of the downscaling?

If you use good tools to resize this won't have a significant impact.

Depending on what your final delivery format is, you may also want to consider cropping the image with a garbage matte to cover up the outside 10%. This area usually isn't visible anyway if you are playing a DVD on a TV due to the overscan area.

Garbage matte makes sense, yes. Instead of enlarging, I also could blur the 10% margin area, which would be an interesting way to cover up the problem and make the edge less distinct in an artsy way.
