GH4 Skintones change even with manual WB. What gives? :(

I did white balance with white paper. For some reason the skin tones change. There were no other light sources besides the ceiling lamps.
The skin tones go from warm to blue, blue to warm etc..

Is my GH4 faulty? Or was it something I did wrong?

Hmm, I think you might be right. I did two white balances that day, one in one room and the other on the other room. And I guess it might have happened indeed when I was switching them with the circle too fast.
Damn it. But okay, next time I will be more careful.

What was lighting the room ?

It looks like you've got overcast daylight outside ( 6000 Kelvin or higher ) and "warm" office fluorescents inside which are usually in the range of 3800 - 4300 Kelvin with an incomplete spectrum so the light quality is crap.

I messed up with AWB on accident before and it was a mess. Even in controlled lighting it was constantly changing. Only had a couple usable shots before I caught it.
I was looking in the monitor watching the shift and thought I was seeing things LOL!

I'm curious how you guys tackle mixed light in the same frame like this. (Daylight window, background and warm incandescent light on the subject, foreground). You can only strike a balance by compromising one and the other or get the skin tones right and fix the now overly blue background in post?

Get some nice daylight balanced LED lights if you can set up all the lighting in a scene and turn off all other sources. I've just gotten a few of the Yongnuo 600 led panels. Only been using them a couple weeks, but so far they are working great.

Yep, already have a LED, but in this case, I did not use it. There was enough light for the shot and I just ran with it.

If I don't have daylight balanced LEDs with me, I'd rather get skin tones right and have a super-blue background. If possible, fix the background in post, or just leave it blue. Bad skin tones look unnatural and pull me out of the story, but blue backgrounds just look blue, and I forget about them in a few seconds. In the clip posted above, I wan't even looking at the background, instead was mesmerized by the skin tone weirdness.
