Sketch Comedy 2

Hey guys,

As promised here is the next sketch on my site. I did some color correcting. got a boom pole for my mic so the sound is consistent and used actors for all roles. so it's overall better production I think.

I'm in search of a second camera man so that i can get mutliple angles without shoddy transitions or having the actors stop their flow of working off each other.

The problems I did notice is that I was so busy making sure the lines were said right and nothing was left out that I didn't concentrate on framing and directing. So definitely need to improve that. I also updated the way the videos are presented so let me know what you guys think. and of course if its funny

Definitely need to work on the hand held technique. Shaky, and the shots were all tilted a few degrees off-plumb.

The cable from the boom was dropping into the frame on some shots (upper, left corner)... a bit distracting.

The color was washed out, and just felt dull. What kind of color correction did you intend to do?

And the audio may be more consistent with the use of a pole, but it's still consistently challenged. The sound was very roomy (shotgun?), probably due to a mic not suited to the room, or poor mic placement (too far away), or a little of both.

Also, the dialog is mixed all to the left channel. I looked at one of the earlier vids you did on Vimeo, and it has the same problem even though the sound bed (birds chirping) was present in both left and right speakers.

This also went on way too long for the scene never to change... or even the shots, really. They should have moved. If not out of the house, at least to another room. I would have had George show off the case of knives in the other room, then brought them back to the front room again toward the end. The scripting could have been cut down a lot as well. I think the sketch suffers from it's length.

One editing/continuity note: when he falls to the floor, the shot cuts from him hunched over (almost out of frame) to him lying on the floor.

thanks i'll keep this in mind. It's hard directing, and making sure people are staying coherent to the script and all the other things. I"m getting an assistant and trying to get a second cameraman.
