Skate movie

Plano, that skate park is in Allen. My kids hang out there and want me to tape them.
They did not make this cut, they have some work to do.

My feelings as usual, the hvx will be _the camera_ for skatevideos etc. The P2 option is good for skate filming too.

I Disagree i think that the next camera for filming skateboarding is going to be the dvx-100(a)(b) because right now the majority of people that film skateboaring use either a vx-1000 or vx-2_00 and they could not afford to buy the camera and all of the computer related stuff you would need to edit hd. Unless you are suggesting that they are to film in sd.

I do some video work for team pain, the most well known skate park/skate ramp builders on the East Coast and possibly the entire US. The build the Ramps for the X-games and have built most of the parks in Florida. I'm planning on shooting their new park in the next few months. They usually have some big names come out... as I've shot a lot of them, Tony Hawk... Bob Burnquist... Bucky... Danny Way, etc.
I can't wait to bust the HVX out and show them the slow-motion in real time.... Now that will rock.

Team pain built all the ramps for the Jackass movie and TV show... and did the same for Jackass 2. That's right! They were here in Orlando about a month ago shooting again. I wasn't able to get on this one like I did last move. All of a sudden they have a ton of money.. people and cameras. Rumors were that they had several HVXs on the shoot. Jackass 1 was PD150s and digibeta.

You can check out their ramps and site at www.teampain.com

Happy skating!

IMO skateboarding (and especially snowboarding) are some of the least conducive filming situations for P2....bring your G5 laptop to the skatepark? or even better, the streets? i dunno...

Who says ya have to do that. For now, I'm bringing my mwave USB on the Go drive, and/or my ipod and I take a break and backup that way.... I'm hoping to get the P2 store, but the price is too high...

Skating is also usually done in sessions and 30 minutes of record time is usually enough to get whatever I'd need...

Now snowboarding.. ahhh that's my own passion there, but living in FL I don't get too much of a chance to do that. I grew up in NH.. bought a Burton 150 elite in 1988.. kept it at my dad's house until 2 years ago when he through the collector's item away .. the bindings were broke.. so he throws the whole thing away.. That board was worth some cash.. A part of snowboarding history... Friggin hell, when I started I might as well be a part of that history as well. Started snowboarding in 87... when there were maybe 2 or 3 boarders on the whole skiiing infested mountain...

I have HVX.. would be willing to shoot some snowboarding for flight... hotel.. lift tickets.. and hot massage therapist and sauna at the end of the day.... Any takers? lol

Justyn,

Don't lose that hookup brother. Force your way on to their team if you can. Team pain makes the BEST Parks/ramps ever. I'm so addicted to their site...

I'd love to see some of your footy.

HVXguy, shots look nice. Cam deliver's beautifully also. Congrats... I'd work a bit more on composition but nice job.

Rook, I'm trying not to loose their hook-up. The problem though is that so many people they know have cameras that I loose out on a lot of jobs as people are willing to do work for them for free now. Most skaters have what I used to have. My real niche with them was and has been.. and hopefully will be on the post side. However, that is until last week when the HVX arrived. Now, I do have a cam that most skaters can't afford. I'm hoping to just get to shoot him and his guys for free again.. and use the footage for my demo reel.

I want to get into this circular bowl they have here and have them whip around me shooting in 60fps... and some at 12fps... would look breathtaking...

When I found out what's up with them I'll let you know. Are you in Florida?

Tha'ts cool... Do they have a website?

Westcoast.. ahh you are so like 3 hours behind bro.. Cutting edge shiznit here! We all know westcoast boys are soft... Soft.. soft. JK (LOL)

I'm just looking to get out there again myself... Always have a good time in LA and SD... NOt sure how you guys surf in that freezing ass water though... Man, I'm spoiled with my warm bath water and tiny puny.. crappy FL waves. Thongs make it a more enjoyable beach day though...

dreamland is the crew that built Burnside...they make parks for cities now...i dunno about a website (probably), but you could always rent Tony Hawk ProSkater....:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Yeah but I'm not into that game. Just seems so weird. I preferred that transworld snowboarding game. I have to go into counseling to get off that one. Only real game in last 20 years that I got hooked on bigtime.
